Ryan turned 36 today! What a place to spend the day:)
Ok so German cheesecake is quite different from ours at home. These cute chocolate cupcake looking things are really just chocolate covered marshmellows...Ryan didn't really like those. I did get him a donut that he liked so it was ok!!
It looks good...right??!

Doing well
Ryan is doing well, he has been up walking a few times this morning. His incesion is swollen and he said they had to change it three different times during the night. He feels pretty good...he is hooked to a pain medicine pump so he should right?!! Just sleeping, walking a little bit, and healing.
He shares a room with Jesse (from maricius,) it is a little bit different from home where at least u have a curtain to divide the room! His wife & daughter & I have been hanging out quite a bit.
The night before surgery they had Ryan come to the hospital to meet with the surgeon one last time and ask any questions he had. Then they gave him a sleeping pill so he would be rested for surgery!! (I thought that was funny...only because they don't do that in the USA) then when he came in the morning of surgery they gave him another sleeping pill so he would be tired for the surgery:)...again very different-maybe not Cindy do they?! Then the epidural and surgery with a pump after for three days. We talked to a guy that had surgery last week & he said when the medicine is done there is quite a bit of pain. So that is Monday or Tuesday. I will keep everyone posted!

Surgery went well
Ryan is out of surgery and everything went well. They told me that he would stay in the ICU tonight, he was doing well so they brought him downstairs to a regular room. It is kind of funny because the nurse said it is boring upstairs!! It is one big room with lots of patients SNORING!
They took a picture of the two discs in Ryan's back and gave it to Him when they brought him downstairs.

We made it to Germany
We made it ...after a LOT of traveling & then add in 8 hours that we lost!! It has taken me a day to get over the time change. Ryan went in for all the testing today; blood count/lab, weight/height measurements, ECG, x-rays, go over medical records, pain history, body scheme, fill out admisission papers, consult with anaethesiologst, & the orthopedic surgeon! The time change and the flying made us pretty drowsy so we took a nap then walked into town -a little over a mile,we think! Came back and had dinner in the only resuraunt by the hospital. Ryan will be having surgery with a guy from Mauritius by Madagascar so we will get to know him and his wife pretty well:) here it is11:00pm, home-3:00pm! Tomorrow we have a free day until 6:00 pm, we r going to go into Bremen.

Pee-Wee Football
Raygn got to play A LOT of football this year. 6th grade plays jr high and pee-wee. They practice 5 days for jr high and then 3 days a week, an hour later practice for pee-wee! In jr high they play 6-8 grade so they are the smallest, then pee-wee it is 5-6 graders so they are the biggest! They had a game every Wednesday and Saturday...double what the high school boys play:) Raygn had a heck of a year! He played a little in the jr high games but started in pee-wee an played the whole game. He had anywhere from 2-5 sacks a game! The sweetest sack was when he grabbed the QB, got hit, was on the ground and still pulled the QB down!! It was AWESOME!!
Raygn is #11 he played center.
They won there last game. Their record was 5-1.
After the game
Telling the other team good game!
All lined up:)
The coaches and team! This is fun for the boys because it is 11 man and in Dietrich we play 8 man so Wednesday is 8 man and Saturdays are 11 man:)
